Me in my garden

This page is about me. I'm not too sure what to write here. I don't really like writing about myself all that much so maybe this page will have to grow slowly over time.

I named this blog makin' waves because I liked the old Greenpeace cybercenter moto that asked "why just surf when you can make waves?". Sadly the Greenpeace cybercenter is no more and since I missed posting rants and ideas there I decided I would try blogging. I don't have the time to blog every day but I will make an effort to write here as often as I can.

So who the hell am I?

My name is Lisa Vickers. I am 29 and I am Bermudian and British. I was born in Bermuda but grew up in England and have lived in Bermuda for almost half my life. I love anything to do with the environment. I am sometimes working for Greenpeace or providing therapy for children with Autism or teaching scuba diving or providing various kinds of support for environmental campaigns either in Bermuda or elsewhere.

I don't beleive that we all have to be a deep shade of green in order to save the planet. I drive a little car when I am in Bermuda and I sometimes fly on planes. I am not a vegetarian since I do eat some kinds of seafood. I try to eat local organic food as much as possible. I love wind turbines, marine reserves and hemp. I hate SUVs, Tony Blair, nuclear power, Trident and Starbucks.
